Belton Court State
Constructed in 1905, Belton Court has been known by various names throughout its history, including Ferrin Hall, Gibson Memorial Building, Barrington College, Peck Mansion, and, most recently, Zion Bible College. Originally commissioned by a prominent Rhode Island politician, the building underwent numerous additions and renovations over the years, evolving to suit different purposes.
However, in 2008, Belton Court met a fate of abandonment. Following the departure of Zion Bible College, the once-thriving institution fell into disuse. Eventually, the property was sold for a substantial sum of 13 million dollars.
Under the stewardship of the new owner, exciting plans are in motion for the redevelopment of Belton Court. The vision for the building entails transforming it into housing for the elderly, catering to their unique needs and providing a comfortable and supportive living environment.
With this new chapter, Belton Court has the opportunity to reclaim its significance by serving as a home for older individuals, offering them a place to reside that caters specifically to their well-being and quality of life.
